Obesity – a review



Most people think that obesity is not deeper than the less than fashionable appearance, but they are wrong. Obesity has become epidemic, the disease rapidly throughout the world, both industrialized and emerging economies.

Obesity means having too much fat in your body. First of all, obesity puts a burden on joints and bones, which must maintain more than before, which leads to arthritis in the long term. Weight also tends to people less active, which in turn means more weight is put on.

The lack of activity and high cholesterol brought by eating too many wrong kind of food impair the proper functioning of the heart and blood vessels. It causes high blood pressure, stroke and other blood and heart. Excess Weight also leads to apnea, the cessation of breathing during sleep.



However, obesity can be treated with patience and effort. In this disease is spreading over the land, so do the efforts to increase its hardening. Talk with your doctor if you are interested to get rid of obesity.

Recognizing obesity?

The textbook definition of obesity is the body mass index of 30 or above. On the body mass index is a measure of a person scaled according to height weight, developed by Belgian scientist Adolphe Quetelet in 1840. This index is used to display the amount of fat stored in the body, and a higher BMI, the worst is the risk of certain diseases.

Doctors also warm, that a lot of fat stored around the waist increases the risk of developing diseases. Going beyond the size of 35 women and 40 men in size only mean trouble in the future.
